Galvalume steel sheet is a high-performance alloy-coated steel produced via a continuous hot-dip process. The unique metallic coating—comprising 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.5% silicon—is integral to its exceptional properties.
I. Key Characteristics
Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: The aluminum content forms a continuous, protective barrier of aluminum oxide, offering superior resistance to atmospheric and industrial corrosion compared to standard galvanized steel. This results in a service life 2 to 6 times longer.
Excellent Formability:The coating exhibits strong adhesion and ductility, allowing the steel to be bent, formed, and stamped without significant coating damage such as cracking or spalling.
Superior Coating Adhesion:Its surface properties make it an ideal substrate for painted and coated products, ensuring outstanding adhesion for both liquid paints and powder coatings.
Enhanced Heat Resistance:Owing to aluminum's high melting point, it withstands higher service temperatures (up to 315°C / 600°F) and provides better resistance to heat oxidation than traditional galvanized steel.
Effective Heat Reflectivity:The bright, silvery surface efficiently reflects radiant heat, contributing to improved energy efficiency in building applications.
